* PROLOGUE *

There was a great battle raging between the magical beings and the great Wizard named Marcus. He had managed to do the impossible and had corrupted the soul of a red male dragon. Tarc had not been prepared for this and being already caught off-guard due to his beloved dragon, Jaden being injured, he had let the wizard slip from his grasp. What could have caused one of the most prized magical beings to go to the darkness when they were so strong and able to resist the temptations?

Together with his new friend, Lily, they had traveled in search of the Seers to determine how best to defeat this powerful wizard along with this young dragon. Upon finding the Seers, Tarc discovered that his future was full of hope and love but neither would come until this was settled.

As it was foretold by Rashira, head of the Seers, he must travel to Gourmatcha Island where the male dragon, Zaphan had made his home and destroy him as he sleeps. He would have to use caution though because this volcano provided Zaphan with immense strength. If he was unable to slay him swiftly as he sleeps, then he would have to draw him out into the open. He was advised not attempt to battle him within the walls of the volcano. Away from the Wizard he is but a dragon but is still very powerful as all dragons are. Deep below the surface of the earth, Zaphan awaits the call from the Wizard so he can earn his reward. The Wizard has promised him his own family that he can rule over. He believes that a strong male would be a much better leader for the dragons than a female and has his eye on that role.

Tarc was advised to focus on Zaphan as he is very powerful as a dragon. Combined with the darkness , he becomes an enemy that is unbeatable. However, if he were to be destroyed before the foretold battle took place then the results would certainly be different. He also discovered that Jaden could not defeat Zaphan while he was with the Wizard. Their combined power is too great and she will surely perish.

Rashira, holding Tarc and Lily by the hand had proclaimed,"Once all of this is finished, you two must return here for the official ceremony that will unite you both for all of eternity. Until that time, you must do all that you can to protect one another. Tarc, you have noticed that you no longer need to rely on he magical waters to restore your energy. You know that your strength comes from your bond with Lily. The closer you two become, the stronger you will become physically and mentally. Lily is your source of strength for your body, mind and soul. You can do no wrong with her at your side. Likewise for you, Lily. This is very important for you both to know and understand. You must not separate or else you shall be weakened and vulnerable. Recall when you faced the Wizard before, you were not together. This is why you were caught off guard and so easily had your judgement clouded. Remember, do not part ways no matter what and always trust one another, even if you do not understand what is going on. Your combined strength is stronger than anything the Wizard has and you will be able to defeat him if you remain united. The images that you saw in the fire are what will be. You have the power to change these things. You must find Zaphan and destroy him or else the battle that you saw will definitely occur. If he is allowed to rejoin the Wizard, many lives will be lost before this is over with. Just as the two of you draw strength from one another, so do the Wizard and Zaphan. Let this be what guides you on this next stage of the battle. Go in haste and settle this matter at once."

Rashira was watching them closely as she added this final bit of advice, "There is one last thing you should know. Once you have destroyed Zaphan, your travels will take you to the ends of the world. There you will find the Wizard who hides deep within his castle and dare not venture out since he discovered you were on the move. However, he will know the instant you destroy Zaphan. This will anger him immensely and he will be waiting on you to arrive at his island. Use extreme caution. Do not allow the Wizard entry into your minds because he will use your thoughts against you. He is very skilled at this and has used this skill to corrupt many humans as they are easily persuaded by guilt. Also, once you have defeated the Wizard, his island will vanish, so make sure that you do not linger there or you shall vanish along with it."

Lily was sitting quietly, her mind wrapped up in her own thoughts and memories. She was remembering the vision she saw in the fire. Remembering the images of their future, Tarc sitting there with their young son and daughter upon his lap as he told them the story of the mighty Corrina.

She recalled Rashira’s words to her after the vision had vanished,"I see that you have been blessed with a look into your future. What a very fortunate girl you are to receive so many blessings from the magical world. All that look into the pool do not see what they are searching for. There must be a clue there that is meant to assist you in your task. Do not tell what you saw. This was for your eyes only. Guard it well and use what you saw to guide you and provide hope when it seems like there is none." Then she turned and was gone.

They stayed with the Seers for a few more days to allow their bodies the necessary time to rest. When it was time to go, Rashira reminded Tarc and Lily of their promise to return as soon as the darkness had ended. She said that the Seers would be ready for the celebration that would officially join them for all eternity.

Jaden was eager to be flying again. As they said goodbye and started down the path through the jungle, Tarc felt like everything was different than when they had walked this path last. They knew that they were walking straight into danger but were not afraid at all. Maybe it was because they knew how it was to end?

The tension between Tarc and Lily was gone. Now that they knew what the future held for them, they could relax and focus more clearly on the task at hand.

Once they reached the edge of the water, Jaden lowered herself down so that they could climb upon her back. There was no question that they would walk no more. From this point on, they would ride upon her back everywhere they went. With a mighty roar she took to the skies, climbing high above the clouds before leveling off to fly at a steady pace.

They knew where they were going, but had yet to figure out what they would do upon arriving. Tarc knew he had better figure it out soon, though. He could afford no mistakes this time.
