I was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1973 but currently live in Houston, Mississippi. I do have a fairly active life but things have settled down over the last few years.
I have four wonderful children, ages 18, 15, 14 & 11 {oldest & youngest are boys}. We also have a home-based Auto Repair Shop which I manage during the day and I home-school the kids - who are doing fabulous with their school work. Being mom is a full plate and once you add in running the business, I’m sure you can imagine that it is sometimes a struggle for me to find time to write . The struggle is truly worth it, though and I can always find the time for a little writing, even if it is at 3am.
I have dreamed of writing a book since I was a very young girl. Over the years, I have written several smaller stories but never tried to have them published. Mostly, they were just a way for me to clear my mind and keep my imagination going.
All of my children share my love of reading but my youngest daughter shares my passion for writing as well and has tried her hand at writing several smaller books that she hopes to see out in print when she is a little older. I am always encouraging her to never give up on her dreams of seeing her hard work published one day. She came to me one day and asked if I had ever dreamed of publishing one of my books. I had to be honest and tell her that I had often dreamed of it but had never tried. There was no real reason why. I realized that while I was telling her to follow her dreams, I had let my own dreams die.
I guess you could say I decided to write this book and try to get it published to show my children, especially my daughter that it is important to follow your dreams.
I wanted to show them that dreams really do come true if you are willing to work hard and never give up.

Some questions commonly asked of me and my answers:
Q. What made you decide to write a book ?
A. I have dreamed of writing a book every since I was a little girl. Over the years, I have written several smaller stories but have never attempted to have anything published. I submitted ‘The Search For Magic’ to Publish America to show my children that you are never too old to follow your dreams. I felt it was important for me to do more than just tell them to dream big & reach for the stars. There is no better way to teach our children than by example.
Q. What do you like most about writing?
A. I enjoy writing almost anything as I find it very calming. Mostly I just write as a way of clearing my mind. I have kept a journal since I was a little girl and write in it daily. Some days I only write two or three pages and some days I end up writing a dozen.
Q. Do you draw on your own life for examples when you write ?
A. It has been said that most authors write about their own personal experiences. I can’t say that I do, at least not intentionally. I don’t have any real process when I write. I simply sit down and whatever comes to mind is what I write about. If it turns out that I write about something that was really going on, then It was purely by coincidence.
Q. Do you plan on writing a second book?
A. I think it would be great to have a second book out and I definitely have the text for it but I think right now I am going to concentrate all of my attention on Book 1. I plan to give it my best effort to help make this book a great seller and I know that takes a lot of work. If 'The Search For Magic' does well and people enjoy reading it then I will definitely work on getting part 2 out there in print.
Q. Where do you do most of your writing at ?
A. I write best outdoors and at least 3/4 of this book was written from 3am - 6 am on the patio. It is quiet with the family still in bed and there is hardly any noise except nature. Living in the country helps because there is not a lot of traffic and noise that would really disturb the thinking process. I prefer to be surrounded by the relaxing sounds of nature when I write and it just don't get much more relaxing (not to mention inspiring) that watching the sunrise over a cup of coffee.
Q. What type books do you like to read?
A. I will read just about anything so long as it isn’t too graphic. A few of my favorite books are :

Q. What is your book about ?
A. 'The Search For Magic' is a story about a young boy named Tarc, that loses his family but hardly has time to grieve once he discovers that he has a very important purpose in life. Tarc was born into this world for the sole purpose of stopping the Evil Wizard from stealing all of the magic and destroying the entire Magical World.
On his twelfth birthday, Tarc receives the gift of a dragon’s egg and upon hatching, he forms a very unique life-bond with the female dragon, who he names Jaden.
Tarc makes many new friends when he finds himself thrown into a very confusing world of magic, mystery, and mayhem. His adventures carry him deep into the Magical World where he must convince the dragons to join him in the fight as they confront the evil Wizard and defeat him once and for all in the battle to save all things magical.
During his journey, Tarc meets a very special young girl named Lily and they soon discover that their futures are intertwined in way neither were prepared for.
Upon confronting the Wizard, they discover that his magic has reached further than anyone could possibly imagine. He has managed to corrupt one of the powerful young male dragons and is using him to spread his darkness throughout the magical world and beyond.
